After obtaining my degree in Computer Science, I joined BSO, one of the leading software companies in the Netherlands. Equipped with a strong theoretical foundation in computer science and aligned with this progressive management approach, I sharpened my skills in building sustainable software solutions, adhering to widely accepted software engineering principles. During my tenure, I focused primarily on developing logistics applications for esteemed client Philips. I pursued a post-graduate degree in supply chain management to enhance my understanding of the logistics domain.
Transitioning to PinkRoccade, I took on the role of a project manager, overseeing turn-key software development projects for financial institutions, including implementing paperless office solutions and developing commercial software for business and life insurance. Demonstrating potential for leadership, I was given the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in management of Information Technology (M.I.T.), with a focus on management and aligning business and IT strategies.
As an IT Director and CIO at prominent logistics companies like Frans Maas, DSV, and Vos Logistics, I played a crucial role in shaping the organizations’ strategic direction. By leveraging technology as a catalyst for gaining a competitive edge, I ventured beyond operational aspects, exploring emerging technologies, driving digital transformation, and fostering innovations such as algorithmic transport planning, AI utilization for refueling and transport volume prediction, using software robots to gain efficiency, and being an early adopter of the electronic CMR. Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and championing digital strategies became second nature as I aligned technology initiatives with overarching business goals.
